What are your career plans after graduation?
Post-graduation I plan to move to Waukesha, WI to work for the Marriott International Voyage Program at the GE Healthcare Institute.
What other goals do you have for your life after graduation (hobbies, travel, self-improvement, etc.)?
Once I complete the Marriott program, I hope to find an event planning job somewhere in the Midwest. Besides that, I love to travel and hope to find any opportunity to do so!
What was your favorite Leadership Studies class? And why?
My favorite class was Leadership Styles and Strategies in a Diverse Society. I enjoyed this class because it was very interactive, with many hands-on projects that students were able to collaborate on.
How do you feel Leadership Studies has made an impact on you?
Leadership Studies has helped me gain a better understanding of how to create effective change and lead those around me. This program has helped me learn about the leadership styles of those around me, and how to work together to accomplish our goals. It has taught me the qualities of a leader and how I can better myself and the environment around me every day.
After your time in the program, what is your definition of leadership?
Leadership is the ability to form an open and understanding environment, empower others, and create positive change in the people and environment around them.
What activities, clubs, groups were you a member of at ISU?
I am a member of Sigma Kappa.
What is your favorite memory from being at ISU?
My favorite memory from ISU was on the first day moving into the dorms when my mom told me to “enjoy my adventure”.
What would you say to someone considering a Leadership Studies minor or certificate?
I highly recommend this program to anyone considering it. This program made a huge impact on my education and time at Iowa State. It has taught me valuable skills and an understanding of leadership that I will be able to take on with me in any step of life.
