Allison Gardner will receive a Leadership Studies Certificate and a degree in Business Management with a minor in Financial Counseling and Planning from Iowa State University. Congratulations, Allison!

What goals do you have for your life after graduation (hobbies, travel, self-improvement, etc.)?

Post-graduation I will be working towards my Master’s degree in Business Administration.

What was your favorite Leadership Studies class? And why?

The capstone theory course was my favorite in the program. This class seemed very unusual at first, and that’s because it was. We had the opportunity to actually practice everything we learned in previous courses. It pushed me to notice and intervene around group dynamics, which will be extremely beneficial moving into a professional setting.

What activities, clubs, groups were you a member of at ISU?

I was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority Order of Omega, Leadership Honor Society, Leadership Studies Club, Financial Planning Association, and Ames Student Chapter Fraternal Values Society.

What would you say to someone considering a Leadership Studies minor or certificate?

Do it! This program has opened my eyes to so many different aspects of leadership, and how to utilize the knowledge in practice. Plus, it is a great conversation topic for job interviews that will set you a part from other applicants!
