Congratulations to 2020 Leadership Studies graduate, Kaitlyn Sanchez!

Kaitlyn Sanchez will receive a Leadership Studies Minor and a degree in Graphic Design from Iowa State University. Congratulations, Kaitlyn!

What are your career plans after graduation?

Post-graduation I plan to work as a communications specialist in Costa Rica!

 

What other goals do you have for your life after graduation (hobbies, travel, self-improvement, etc.)? 

Post-graduation I would love to open my own design firm with some other talented designers in the area.

 

What was your favorite Leadership Studies class? And why?

My favorite Leadership Studies classes were the core courses that all LD ST students must take. I believe they were incredibly beneficial for my understanding of different styles of leadership.

 

How do you feel Leadership Studies has made an impact on you?

Leadership Studies allowed me to be a better leader today. I have grown abundantly through the intentional conversations had in my LD ST classrooms.

 

After your time in the program, what is your definition of leadership?

Leadership is preparing future leaders.

 

What activities, clubs, groups were you a member of at ISU?

So many! A few included: Student Government, Kappa Alpha Theta, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Graphic Design Social Club.

 

What is your favorite memory from being at ISU? 

My favorite memory was walking onto campus for the first time and feeling at home.

 

Do you have any other memories or thoughts about Leadership Studies that you would like to share?

Shout out to my former advisor, Julie for all of her help!

 

What would you say to someone considering a Leadership Studies minor or certificate?

Do it! Stand out from other job applicants with a unique and valuable minor!
