Leadership Philosophy: Leadership is not practiced so much in words, as in attitudes and in actions. The growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership.
Michael Jackson is currently an instructor for the Leadership Studies Course 322 XV and conducts research in the Civil Engineering Department while completing his doctoral program in Higher Education/Administration at Iowa State University. A first-generation college student, Jackson completed his B.A. in Criminology at Missouri State University and completed his Masters of Arts degree in Political Science at Iowa State University. This year Jackson was selected to share his research at the 21st Annual International Leadership Conference in Ottawa, Canada.
Before transitioning to academe, Jackson effectively assumed several leadership roles in the business sector. Jackson led a Fortune 500 company overseeing approximately 2600 associates before taking the reins to two personal owned businesses. Jackson has received several leadership awards for his accomplishments in the business sector. Jackson’s hobbies include, reading, running (full/half marathons), traveling, and horseback riding.
